The perfect course to get you started on your Kundalini Yoga journey. Understand and practice yoga safely. Learn about alignment, yoga postures, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation practices, focussing your mind, mantras and chakras (energy centres in your body). You’ll learn techniques which lead to deep relaxation and healing of mind and body.
In these weekly classes we will use gentle movement and breathing exercises, you will learn mantras and a number of meditations that will specifically release stress and open you up gently to your potential and your intuition.
Each week we will explore in theory and practice:
Breath – Pranayama
Kriya – Asana – Body Posture
Mudra and Mantra
Bhandas, Focus and Meditation
The kriyas and meditations are pretty structured practice, but rather than focusing on physical alignment, the kriyas are a specific set of exercises that generate energy, organize that energy and deliver you to a specific energetic state — particularly one of greater awareness. Also within the practice are built-in moments of stillness where we sit quietly and awaken to our self. The breath work within the kriyas is so powerful that it starts to strip away the layers that veil our consciousness, and in the sweet moments between poses we can sense the fullness of who we are.
The practice is available to everyone, no matter what your current level of physical fitness. As some say, if you can breathe, you can practice Kundalini Yoga! You do not need to be fit, bendy, young, strong or instagram-ready to do yoga. Kundalini Yoga is a personal practice, and your experience will always be unique.
